WEST SALEM, Ohio — September 30, 2026 — American Augers® welcomed the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) Manufacturing Express to its West Salem facility Wednesday, bringing together employees, industry representatives and community leaders to celebrate the people behind American manufacturing.
The AEM Manufacturing Express is a national mobile tour celebrating the 2.2 million men and women who build, power and feed America. Now in its third consecutive year, the Northeast leg visited manufacturing facilities across Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New York and Ohio.
During the event, American Augers employees were recognized for their contributions to the company and the manufacturing industry.
Cammy Thomas, director of operations for American Augers, spoke about what makes the West Salem facility special, highlighting the dedication and experience of its employees, including those who have spent decades with the company. One of those employees was Dave Boone, who has been with American Augers for more than 47 years. Boone was recognized during the event and selected to place the American Augers decal on the AEM Manufacturing Express bus, recognizing his nearly five decades of contributions to the company.
“People are what make this facility special,” said Thomas. “We have employees who have dedicated decades of their lives to American Augers, and their knowledge, commitment and pride in what they do are a big part of what makes this place unique.”
American Augers operates on an approximately 30-acre site in West Salem with more than 240,000 square feet dedicated to manufacturing, product development and testing. The facility manufactures heavy-duty horizontal directional drills, pumps and fluid cleaning equipment for the underground construction industry.
“What we build here in West Salem matters. American Augers equipment helps contractors take on large-scale underground infrastructure projects that communities across the country depend on,” said Kevin Smith, vice president, Ditch Witch® Division of The Toro Company. “People may never see that infrastructure once it’s in the ground, but they rely on it every day. We’re incredibly proud that the work happening right here in Ohio helps make that possible.”
